York Roman Festival Guide
This year, 2011, the 1,800th anniversary of the death in our city
of Emperor Septimius Severus, York Roman Festival will take place
on the weekend of 18-19 June. Films begin and end the festival at
City Screen. All of the daytime events
at The Black Swan Inn are completely free

There will also be various fringe events around the city including
an open top Roman
bus tour, the new "Gladiators of York" exhibition
at York
Dungeon and many bars and restaurants offering Roman themed

Black Swan Inn
The Black Swan Inn on Peasholme Green will be transformed into
a gladiatorial arena for displays on both days. On Friday and Saturday
evening there will be a play, an author talk and the auction (ticketed).
